Princeton Technology is a professional IC design company. The manufacturing of its products is outsourced to qualified foundries, and its primary workplaces consist of offices and R&D laboratories. Therefore, the Company’s internal energy consumption mainly derives from general office needs such as air conditioning, computer equipment, and lighting, with no significant additional sources of energy usage.

In response to the global trend toward carbon footprint reduction, the Company has formulated short-, medium-, and long-term plans and established corresponding energy-saving and carbon reduction measures. Energy conservation initiatives and performance targets have been set for various office facilities, and energy-saving strategies appropriate to the Company’s industry characteristics have been developed. These efforts align with the Company’s energy management policies and vision, aiming to create an environmentally friendly and green workplace for employees.

  • Short-term Target (2023)
⌕ More than 40% of the lighting fixtures in the Taipei office were replaced with energy-efficient LED panel lights, resulting in an annual reduction of approximately 3,079 kgCO₂e in carbon emissions.
⌕ Employees are encouraged to set office air conditioning systems at an appropriate temperature of 25°C.
⌕ During lunch breaks and off-peak hours after work, lighting in common areas is reduced to conserve energy.
⌕ The chiller system is set to operate on an automatic timed schedule to optimize energy savings.⚼
  • Mid-term Target (2024–2026)
⌕ The proportion of LED energy-saving panel lights in the Taipei office is increasing year by year, and it is expected that by 2024, LED lighting will account for over 90% of the total.
⌕ Achieve external certification for the ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas inventory.
⌕ Establish a low-carbon electric scooter charging station at PTC Innovation & Intelligence (Chengdu) parking lot.
  • Long-term goal: After 2027
    ⌕ Replace air-conditioning systems with energy-efficient chiller units。

Princeton Technology is a professional IC design company. All of the company's products are manufactured through outsourced production. The main water usage is for general domestic purposes and air conditioning, with no process water consumption. In 2023, operations in Taiwan and China generated only domestic wastewater from office activities. There are no dedicated discharge monitoring points within the campuses, and therefore no self-monitoring records for wastewater discharge are available.
To prevent water wastage due to leaks or overuse, the company not only promotes water-saving awareness internally but also actively maintains water control facilities, such as faucets and toilet cisterns, to prevent leaks.
Regarding shared water usage in common areas, the main campus has experienced significant leaks in the municipal water supply lines over the years. The company has actively participated in campus management committee activities, urging the management office to identify the root cause. Between June and August 2022, the source of the leak was discovered and successfully stopped. As a result, the campus saves approximately 5.5 million liters of water annually, with ProTronics Technology’s share being 1.1%, equivalent to an annual saving of 0.06 million liters.

Princeton Technology engages in IC design and research and development, without any actual manufacturing operations. Therefore, the company’s waste primarily originates from employees’ domestic office waste, followed by hazardous business waste mixed with metal scrap. As of the end of 2023, ProTronics Technology has not caused any environmental impact nor received any complaints from internal or external stakeholders.

  • Waste Reduction, Recycling, and Reuse Measures
⌕Employees are encouraged to reduce the use of disposable items, such as single-use tableware, and switch to environmentally friendly utensils; reduce the use of non-biodegradable plastic products. Since 2021, ProTronics has stopped providing disposable paper cups and coffee stirrers internally.
⌕Waste is effectively recycled and reused. Retired office furniture and equipment, light covers, discarded ICs, metal/aluminum/glass containers, PET bottles, waste paper, and empty toner cartridges are all sorted and entrusted to legally authorized professional vendors for recycling and disposal. In 2023, 60 office chairs were additionally donated to underprivileged groups through social welfare organizations to reduce environmental impact.
  • 2023 Waste Management Methods and Implementation Plan
To ensure proper waste flow and treatment, ProTronics Technology carefully selects registered Class-A waste removal and treatment vendors every two years. Hazardous business waste vendors undergo annual audits, including verification of licensing documents and on-site waste destruction procedures, to ensure hazardous waste is handled or reused in compliance with regulations. The company takes full responsibility for supervising waste management practices.
